Ten NATURAL BIRTH tips from giving five births

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

My name is Yifat Gat, and I am a mother of five unschooled children living in the south of France. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing birth in different ways: twice in a hospital and three times at home—one of those unassisted. Each experience taught me practical, valuable lessons that I was surprised weren’t more commonly shared. Before these insights fade from memory, I’ve decided to write them down.

This guide is my way of passing on what I’ve learned. It’s short, designed to be an easy read. I also hope it makes a meaningful gift for a pregnant friend.

In popular media, birth is often depicted as a harrowing ordeal, but with the right mindset and preparation, it can be an empowering and deeply rewarding experience. While it does require effort, the rewards are immeasurable.

Please note: This guide is based on my personal experiences from my five births. I’m not a medical professional. These are simply the notes and advice I would offer to my own daughters.

Wishing you all the best,
Yifat Gat

"This book is a treasure trove for any expecting mother who wants to embrace natural birth. The step-by-step breakdown of the labor stages gave me a sense of confidence and helped me communicate better with my midwife. I particularly loved the emphasis on understanding and listening to your body, along with the strategies to work with pain instead of fighting it. Whether you're preparing for a hospital birth or planning a homebirth, this guide provides the perfect balance of information and encouragement."
